Excerpts from meetings held during the years 1921-1930 . . .
1921 The matter of stock grazing on the village street is becoming a nuisance.  It was agreed to serve notices to abate the issue.
1922 Fire Chief Crabtree reported a roof fire at the John Lewis property with little damage.

A discussion was held concerning putting in a water main on South Main Street as well as the rental of Fire plugs.

Jacksonville agreed to furnish water.

Residents paid for oiling of streets in front of their property.

Permission is granted to use an 8" water main in the south side of East and West Michigan and to connect surface pipes as well as fire hydrants.  Said water main having been laid for and formerly used by the Jacksonville State Hospital, the conditions were "Pay to State of Illinois as rent $1 per annum payable in advance."

1930 A resident on East Vandalia Road registered a complaint that wild parsnips were growing in abundance on some vacant lots and requested the village have them cut and disposed of.
