Excerpts from meetings held during the years 1931-1940 . . .
1931 Two young gentlemen want to place a "Teeing Off Course" near the railroad on Mrs. Buffe's land on the south side of East Vandalia road.  A permit and request was granted.
1932 Mr. Sibley, a mail carrier, mentioned house numbers of various residences on East Vandalia were incorrectly numbered.
1937 A company made a conservative estimate of $20,000 required to complete a water system to supply the Village.

Member Thorne reported a large hole dug in West Pennsylvania (back of the Widow Hartmen House) and said it should be filled in.

1938 It was decided that a meeting should be held for Public benefit at the School House on March 9, 1938 to discuss the sewage and water construction concepts since W.P.A. funds could be utilized to reduce costs to the Village.
1939 Special attorney Thomson's bill for expenses of a special trip to Chicago for $17.20 were discussed.

The Clerk read a petition by John Bader asking the Board to take steps to make it illegal to keep and feed hogs in the Village.

1940 The engineers suggest tunneling under the hard road Route 67 and establishing a manhole on the west side of the road, south of Vandalia, so as to be able to take care of anyone on the west side of road in the future.
