The clerk read a petition requesting the board take steps to have Vandalia
Road paved. The clerk presented a building permit from Richard Godfrey to build a
grocery store on N.E. corner of south East Street and East Greenwood Avenue. |

President appoints Pennell, German and Ransom as a committee to
investigate a City of Jacksonville "Speed Cop" to come to the Village to arrest
speeders. Ordinance granted a franchise, license or permit to Elm City Bus LInes, Inc.,
its successors and assigns for the establishment, maintenance and operation of a motor Bus
Transportation system in the village. |

Ordinance passed that the president and trustees would receive $3 for each
regular meeting attended and $1.50 for each adjourned or special meeting attended. Ordinance
prohibited keeping of hogs within the corporate limits of the village. |

Board was going to be forced to do something about outdoor toilet on South
West Street. |
| 1945 |
A letter from War Production Board, requested all water utility operators
to cooperate with the War Effort in using as little copper and lead as possible. |
| 1947 |
Mr. Harry Birdwell addressed the board regarding the construction of a
sandwich shop and a residence on South Main and East Vandalia Road. At the present time
there were 236 residences using water; 6 businesses and 44 residences not using water.
Motion made to purchase a blinker with 2 red and 2 amber lights at a cost of $39 to be
placed at intersection of Vandalia Road and South Main.
Mrs. Homer Wilson asked for permission to use the Village Hall for an organization
known as "Brownies". |

Mr. Casler addressed the board regarding a proposed excavation site for a
new school. |
| 1949 |
Motion passed to rename following streets: Park Street to Dewey Drive;
Buffe Avene to South Clay; Waverly Road to West Vandalia Road; Jones Street to South East;
Cannon Place to South East; and the street from Park Street to Waverly to be a
continuation of South West Street. Mr. Brickman addressed the board to build a
supermarket store on South Main, south of Adams Super 66 Service Station. |

A Fire Bond Election was held to levy taxes for fire protection purposes:
453-yes; 128-no. Complaints were received against a person for hunting in the
village. The clerk was instructed to notify the person that hunting would not be
tolerated. |
