The Village of South Jacksonville maintains a volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad with a station house located at 1810 Sequoia.  There are approximately 30 resident fire/rescue volunteers within the Village.

Persons living outside the corporate limits of the Village may be eligible to subscribe to our Rural Fire Service. There is an annual fee of $50.00 for rural fire protection, and proof of insurance is required.
